The 10th House: Karma Bhava, the Seat of Profession
The 10th house is called Karma Bhava in classical texts, and it is the primary signifier of career, public reputation, and one's contribution to society. It sits at the Midheaven, the highest point in the sky at birth — which is why traditional astrologers treat it as the house of visible action, what the world sees you do rather than what you feel privately.
Three things matter most: the sign occupied by the 10th house, any planets sitting in it, and the placement and strength of its lord. A strong 10th lord — ideally in a kendra (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th) or trikona (1st, 5th, 9th) house, and free of affliction from Rahu, Ketu, or a debilitated planet — usually points to a stable, respected profession.
